A Letter from the Province Governor

DeanDear Brothers:

It is with mixed feelings that I write to you today. For the past nine years I have had the distinct honor and pleasure of serving as your governor but this upcoming province workshop will be my last as your governor. This decision has come after much internal debate and consultation with my family and my brothers.

Over my tenure, I have attempted to make North Carolina a place where the spirit of Sinfonia thrives. I have focused my fraternal work on improving the collegiate experience, as it is the central core of our Fraternity. The four years I spent as a probationary and active member produced some of my fondest (and funniest) memories and provided me with friendships that will span my lifetime. It has always been my goal for each of you to have as good of an experience as I did.

But all good things must come to an end. I believe I have done much of what I set out to accomplish and it is time for new ideas and a new person to carry on the traditions we have began together. On Sunday morning at workshop, President Crosby will swear in Patrick Clancy as governor. This will be a special morning as we will swear in the ACPR, CPR, PAC and the new PG. I hope you all give Pat and the other officers as much support, understanding and respect as you have given me.

Brothers, I want to thank each of you for all that you have done in the spirit of Sinfonia. Over the last nine years we have not only seen a growth in the number of chapters and members in the province, but we have also experienced a growth in our fraternalism. This improved spirit of Fraternity is in large part due to you all.

It has been an honor to be your governor and I will cherish the last nine years, but I look forward to working with you all in a different capacity.

I look forward to seeing you all at workshop.

With Warmest Fraternal Regards,

Dean Shatley
